My experience with Dr. Rajagopal was life changing, and my experience was positive from consultation to follow up. I think my experience was exceptional in a few ways:

1) Dr. Raj is hugely experienced in this specific procedure, assured, and answered each question I had with a lot of patience. She’s a warm presence and understands how emotional this process can be.
2) The office has an all female staff that went above and beyond in warmth & responsiveness before, during, and after my surgery.
3) The surgery itself was surprisingly relaxed. You’re in for around 3 hours, prepped, awake for the procedure itself (I chatted with the team during), and then you’re sent home with detailed care instructions.
4) Healing from a surgery was quite smooth and as described in my consultation. 4-5 days of swelling and I was back to most normal activities, back to full activities in a month.
5) Results speak for themselves. I’m very happy with my results. I had a trim and once the swelling went down there was no scalloping, stitches dissolved within 1-2 weeks, and by week 3 I realized that my life was going to be different! I’m not constantly thinking about the area in the back of my mind all the time. Once the swelling fully goes down & the area settles I will likely feel my gait is ever so slightly different. I’m no longer uncomfortable all the time.

Overall, I wish I had done this 10 years ago. I’m so pleased and highly recommend Dr. Raj and her wonderful team.

Dr. Rajagopal is a miracle worker as well as her amazing staff!! I recently had a procedure done that has forever changed my life for the better. I had surgery done to my lady part down there that I was very insecure about for the majority of my life. 

It's been a week post-surgery and the swelling has decreased a little and already I am very satisfied and can't wait for the next few weeks of recovery leading up to the full end result.

I can't wait to rock a string bikini, tight clothing, and most importantly my wedding dress!! I am beyond happy with this whole process and they have made me feel so confident and comfortable! 100000/10 definitely!!! THANK YOU!

I wanted this surgery when I was 15 and it took many years to garner the courage to do it. I researched surgeons for over two years and Dr. Raj was the one I decided on, mostly because she seemed to do a lot of these surgeries. I can not more highly recommend her! She was utterly professional, kind, comforting, and masterful in her technique. I'm not fully healed yet but she did a wonderful job and I couldn't be happier. When you are ashamed of how you look it's difficult to even let a doctor look at you, but I felt 100% completely comfortable with her. She told me I would feel nothing (not even the local needle) and I didn't feel one ounce of pain. I felt totally calm and comforted by her during the surgery and she even called me the very next morning to see how I was doing. The entire staff was kind and professional and I am beyond impressed with my experience. I HIGHLY recommend her!

I was a little nervous and hesitant to have this procedure done in fear of having a “botch job.” I did my research and chose Dr. Rajagopal, as she seems to really specialize in this surgery. Since I was young I always was ashamed of one of my labia is longer than the other. It created discomfort my entire life and wanted to do something about it. After visiting multiple doctors I’ve decided to go with dr.usha. Everyone from the office is very friendly and helpful. And today I finally had a labiaplasty and the whole experience went very smooth. Everyone made sure I was comfortable and warm enough. Prep time was’t too long and the procedure itself went seamless. The surgery area pain is durable and I’m excited to see the result in a month!

I am almost 3 weeks post surgery, trim method for labiaplasty. After 1 week, I seriously questioned my decision due to swelling and discomfort but I am so glad I went for it. My procedure was on a Tuesday, I have a desk job so I only took 1 day off and returned to work Thursday. I wore loose skirts and iced the whole time. I have had very little pain, mostly general discomfort from swelling. Most of my swelling subsided after 1.5 weeks. I would say that days 5 & 6 were worst and everything improved more and more each day from that point. I resumed wearing jeans on day 8. After 19 days now, it feels like there are still some stitches but no swelling. I am quite pleased with the results and would highly recommend it to anyone that wants a reduction to labia size. My procedure was only a trim to my labia minora only. My only regret is that I didn't take any before photos.

So Glad I Finally Did It!

I had a labiaplasty done 5 months ago by Dr. Rajagopal. Here are the reasons why you should see her if you're considering this procedure:

She's female. She's genuinely kind. She's affordable. Her staff is great. She listens. She's been doing this procedure since the 90's and has done hundreds of them. The woman knows what she's doing. Please don't go to a Plastic Surgeon who hasn't done many of these procedures. I live in the Bay area so this wasn't too far to travel, but if I lived on the East coast I would travel the 3,000 miles to have the procedure done by her.

There was a huge degree of embarrassment around my labia all my life. I wish I would have done this years ago. Girls, if you feel like I did, do yourself a favor and have the procedure done. It was, believe it or not, almost painless. She used a long acting (2 day) anesthetic, which was unbelievable!! I had taken 5 days off from work, but should have taken 7 because sitting isn't painful, but uncomfortable. For me the worst part was my pubic hair growing back, felt like pin pricks along the incision lines. The little bit of discomfort though was well worth the outcome. I feel comfortable in my own body. Dr. Rajagopal you are amazing and I wish you the best!

To summarize my “why”: I have always been a bit self conscious about my female anatomy, always had longer labia then what I would consider “normal”; and then after 3 natural deliveries (two of them being traumatic to the area.) I was experiencing not only more noticeably unattractive vulvar appearance but also a lot of pain. It sort of radiated throughout my pelvis but certainly started in or around my labia, I still haven’t figured it out. All I knew was my anatomy wasn’t right and was referred to UCSF to have labiaplasty- but the surgery was being pushed out mostly due to covid. I was tired of waiting and having the pain and discomfort progress, So I called around, and finally called Dr. Rajagopal’s office and immediately knew that I would be booking the consultation. Everyone I talked to from that point on was so friendly and helpful with my MANY questions. Fast forward to the consultation and surgery, Usha knew exactly what I was seeing and explaining immediately and that helped me psychologically I think because so many times I was treated by other doctors as if that sort of trauma after childbirth is normal which is definitely isn’t. I should also add my sex life was non existent and painful if I tried, all around was impacting my life very negatively. The day of surgery I was taken care of by the team and was so nervous and they ALL were beyond comforting. Dr. Rajagopal’s bedside manner was amazing. She is so straight forward and confident, and is ready to answer any question you throw her way. Immediately I looked at my results, of course you’re not supposed to for a few days but I was eager to, and already loved it. As the healing process went on, day by day the difference in my level of comfort improved. The list would be too long to write in how many different ways this has improved my daily life- simple things like I can wear underwear and leggings whereas before underwear hurt me- jeans hurt me, now I can wear skinnies. Tiny bikinis? No problem, no lip slip. The appearance in my opinion is perfect whereas before I didn’t even want my long time partner to see me with the lights on- sexual function is as if I never had babies, I can feel pleasure again after years of not. I had labiaplasty and vaginoplasty performed on the same day. I tell all my friends to call Doctor Rajagopal first with anything they might need. I will be going to her office again for any further procedures including to fix up my breasts done by another plastic surgeon in the area.I can’t say how happy I am and how worth it it was. 5 stars to the whole office, on all levels.

I was self conscious about my labia minora for years, and also dealt with physical discomfort with certain activities. For a long time I contemplated if it was something I could ever feel completely comfortable about. When I determined that it wasn't, I looked into surgery and started saving up. My decision to go to Dr. Rajagopal is one without regrets. She was thorough in her explanation of the surgery and immediately made me feel at ease. She has a very relaxing and warm demeanor which is especially comforting when dealing with something that can feel embarrassing. The surgery itself was painless and lasted under 30 minutes. The next 3 days I experienced little pain and swelling, but was sure to follow her directions closely. It started peaking in swelling around day 4, and was at its height at days 5 and 6. My only minor complaint is that I expected to return to work after 3-4 days, but due to the swelling I was unable to walk normally. Thus, I suggest taking a full week off if undergoing this surgery. I was pretty uncomfortable at days 4-6, although I refrained from using pain medication. By about day 7 the swelling went down significantly and now 10 days post op I am still healing, but it looks as though it has already achieved its full results! I can't believe after years of being extremely self conscious it only took a 30 minute surgery and 10 days to finally feel comfortable and confident about my body!

Totally Worth It

I finally worked up the nerve to go through with a labiaplasty in 2011. It was the best thing I've done in a long time. The procedure takes about 40 minutes plus about 20 minutes for prep (just topical numbing) and another 10 minutes post-op recovery time.

I actually chatted with my surgeon the entire time which was super wierd, but kinda of comforting as well. The first and half after the surgery is uncomfortable to be sure. However, after about 5 weeks, I was almost completely healed. It turns out that there are lots of women who have had this procedure done - it appears to be quite common.

My biggest regret is that I wish I had done it sooner. If I had realized how simple the procedure is and the amazing benefits, I would have done it in high school!

I Wish I Had Done This Sooner

Embarrassment and discomfort. Those were the words always associated with my extended, flappy labia. I was embarrassed in locker rooms, uncomfortable in clothes, and self-conscious with men. Every boyfriend I had, always commented on them. They thought their comments were "cute" -- I was mortified. When a girl gets undressed she shouldn't have something flapping between her legs, right? Although I knew that this was a normal genetic variation, I FELT abnormal. I felt this all through my 20s and my 30s. I felt this through my marriage and I felt this through my divorce. Suddenly, in my early 40s there was a prospect of getting naked once again with a new man and having to deal with my monster labia yet again.

Now this on top of greying hair and wrinkles and less-than-perky breasts? So I did my research on labiaplasty, and picked a doctor. I felt comfortable with my choice from the very beginning. First of all, just like I never liked going to male gynecologists, I preferred (strongly) a female physician for this surgery. This may not be a deciding factor for you, but for me it mattered. Second of all, Dr. R's credentials and recommendations were excellent. And, frankly, when all is said and done I hit the jackpot with her!

The experience was fantastic, from first consultation, the pre-operative instructions given, to the surgery itself and post-op follow-up. The discomfort was minimal. Ice and tylenol was all I needed for a couple of days. Then a topical antiseptic cream. Within 2 weeks most of the swelling was gone. By week 4 you could barely see the sutures. Now, a couple of months later the results are stellar! Why had I waited so long? My confidence level has skyrocketed. I look pretty down there, and I actually enjoy getting undressed now. In front of the mirror, mind you ;-) Can't wait to have a new man in my life now.
