It’s no secret that breast augmentation can improve your confidence in your body—but did you know that it can also improve your sex life? According to a poll recently conducted by RealSelf.com, 61 percent of women who have had breast enhancement surgery say that they have sex more frequently, and 70 percent of women say their sex life satisfaction has increased, since getting implants.
Overall, the participants in the survey, who were asked to rate their general sex life satisfaction on a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (great), reported a more than two-point improvement post-augmentation: the average score among all polled was 6.07 prior to implants, and 8.13 after.
While the numbers that RealSelf uncovered with this poll are very impressive, you can’t exactly call them shocking; after all, breast augmentation is the most popular cosmetic surgery in the U.S. There has to be a reason for that, right?
Well, let’s look at some other numbers: More than 300,000 women had a breast enhancement procedure performed last year, and about 90 percent of women who get breast implants are satisfied with the results. That means that there are more than 270,000 women out there who are now feeling more secure about and comfortable in their bodies than they did one year ago. That increased confidence is bound to spill over into their interactions with other people. What’s more attractive than confidence? And what better way is there to improve your own enjoyment than to feel good about yourself?
Ultimately, breast augmentation is about helping you to be happy with the body you’re in. Judging by their responses, the majority of the women who participated in RealSelf’s survey seem to have gotten just that out of their enhancements—so really, why shouldn’t their sex lives be improving?
